Pastor Ewald Steiniger (1901 – 1964)
Pastor Ewald Steiniger served Melbourne’s Trinity German Lutheran Church from 1935 until his death in 1964. He was also Thomastown Lutheran Church’s pastor, conducting worship services and also baptisms, marriages and funerals. Prior to his early death when aged 63, he had expressed his wish to be buried facing the Thomastown church which he had grown to love. Buried in the grave beside Pastor Steiniger is his wife Annemarie, who died in 1999, aged 97.
